Information

In this short course you will learn to identify a range of woodland trees, flowers, birds and insects. I will talk about the species and how the interact with each other. This will develop a life long curiosity which is never satisfied as there is always more to learn.

Tutors

My name is Ron Hills and I have worked in environmental management and education for over 40 years,as a tree surgeon, countryside ranger and now as a tutor teaching future countryside managers.

Progression

Progression-From this course-you can develop your knowledge by the following courses:

Introduction to British Wildlife-a short evening Course which runs in June over 4 weeks which looks at woodlands, Grassland , heathlands and freshwater habitats.

Practical Habitat management - a one or two day course which develops practical skills in conservation management , learners are taught to a level where they take proficiency qualifications in different countryside machinery.

Level 3 Diplomas in Countryside Management -a 1 or 2 year professional qualification which develops skills for employment in the countryside industry- for 16-18 year olds and mature career changers. All courses are run at Merrist Wood College Near Guildford in Surrey
